From the treasurer’s desk

Loveland Tennis Association (LTA) continued with the annual contribution of $750 to Pathways Hospice / Debbie Boose Memorial Tennis Tournament.
A number of LTA board members volunteered at the Loveland Open Tennis Tournament in July of 2010. LTA will continue its involvement and assistance with the Loveland Open tournament.
We spent $4,283 on tennis socials and collected $3,928 from LTA members attending the socials.
Court reservation fees for league play paid to the City of Loveland and Thompson School District totaled $8,050. League players pay for these fees when registered for a league team.
Our Spring Fling expenses were $662 and Fall Fest expenses were $384
Our LTA membership grew 5% from 2009 to 2010. Total membership is 325 people. LTA individual and family dues have not increased

Loveland Open: Save the Date - July 11th-17th

The 2nd largest tournament in Northern Colorado is returning for a new year and to benefit a new organization. This year the tournament will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Larimer County and will take place July 11th - 17th at North Lake Park tennis facility. In the return of the tournament last year (it had been 10 years since the last Loveland Open), we raised $1500 for the Larimer Humane Society and hopes are very high that we can improve upon that number this year. We are actively looking for sponsors and food donors for the tournament, so if you want to help out or know someone who can, please let us know. We are hoping to plan some fun events for the tournament as well, so we would love for our turnout to be even better than last year. Pathways Hospice (Debbie Boose Memorial)

The Boose/Pathways Hospice is June 6-12, 2011. Pathways Hospice is looking for volunteers that ARE NOT playing in the tournament. Please let Valerie Hecker know if you are interested and she will get your name to the correct people. (970) 593 6747

NEW LEAGUES FOR 2011:

Trio League – Twilight format. Matches are on Saturdays in April. 1pm for Women, 3pm for Men.

Silver Seniors - 70+ April 21st – June 2nd. Play with 3 doubles lines. 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0.
Played Thursday mornings at 10am.

2011 USTA CHANGES

FLIGHT PLAYOFFS

This year there will be a playoff match for division winners, to get to District Tournament. If there are more than one division in your league, the 1st teams will play a match to determine which team goes to the District tournament.

New Players can “self-rate” themselves on Tennis link without having a team number.

FEB: 19, 26 and MARCH: 5, 12, 19, 26

Time: 6-10 PM

Cost: $10 per person + bring a snack

Note: Socials are intended for members and prospective members, i.e. those who plan on joining soon.
Socials are intended for adult members only. However, if courts are available and the player has a reasonable skill level, an exception can be made for those under 18. All events are held at North Lake Park near the LHS.

The LTA’s bylaws require a minimum of seven and maximum of fifteen directors. Each director commits to a two-year term. If, after that time, they want to remain on the board they may run for re-election. The Officers positions are filled each year by the elected directors. As a member, you may vote for one or all of the candidates listed below. An individual adult membership shall have one vote. A family membership shall have one voter if there is only one person of age 19 and over, two voters if there are two members in the respective family membership of age 19 and over. Each voter can cast a vote for any or all candidates listed below.
